WHO WE ARE
We are on a mission to provide competent, self-motivated rowers with the opportunity to race and win on a team of like-minded athletes at the highest of levels, nationally and internationally.

Chinook Performance Racing (CPR) began as the dream of Dr. Deborah Davis — an elite rower and ER physician from Chestertown, Maryland. A passionate athlete since her teens, Davis thrived in high school and college rowing. Afterwards, she stepped away to focus on medicine and family, but the drive to compete never left.
In 2014, seeking more than her local club could offer, Davis joined forces with three West Coast women to create Chinook: a team for masters athletes who could train independently and race together at the highest level.
CPR launched at the San Diego Crew Classic — and won. That breakthrough sparked rapid growth. Top women rowers from across the U.S. joined, and Chinook quickly became a force at major regattas. Success bred expansion: the team added men and began racing in mixed and men’s events.
Built on grit, passion, and camaraderie, Chinook is more than just a team — it’s a unique opportunity and club model for competitive rowers. A place for athletes who never stopped chasing excellence, no matter their age or zip code.

Jennifer Moffat
Board Member
Rowing found Jen in June 2001 at the Cazenovia Rowing Club Learn-to-Row. It changed her life. Jen lives with my husband, Guy, near Syracuse, NY, where they both enjoy exercise, wine tasting, and cooking. Their daughters learned to row in high school. The youngest rowed in college and became a world champion. Jen joined Chinook in February 2020. Racing with such great teammates is thrilling (HOCR! Worlds!) and gives her purpose and friendship. Jen's rowing goal is to race as a K, or even longer.

Camilla Sutter
Advisory Committe
Cam started rowing at Amherst College in 1987 while looking for a sport that was less hard on her knees, realizing she loved the sport after the first practice. She continued rowing after college with Lake Merritt Rowing Club in Oakland, CA, taking a break to have kids, then returning to the boat. Moving to Boston in 2011, she joined Community Rowing and has been rowing there ever since, complementing her time with Chinook.

Brad Ingleton
Advisory Committe
Brad began rowing in 1988 at the University of Toronto where he was part of the OUAA championship men’s 8+. He competed with various Toronto area clubs during the summers of his university years. As he began his career as a teacher, he trained in a 1x, but did not race again until 2002 when he moved to Orillia. Brad joined Chinook in 2022 and says the camps and regattas with the team are some of the highlights of each year.
